Skills Boost Shoalhaven: Real Skills, Real Opportunities
A job can change everything.
For people with disability, meaningful employment builds confidence, connection, and independence.
Skills Boost Shoalhaven provides practical training, mentoring, and real-world experiences to help participants build job-readiness and take their first steps toward meaningful employment. As part of the program, participants now take part in Industry Days — a chance to visit local businesses, go behind the scenes, meet employers, and explore what different workplaces are really like. These visits open up new possibilities, spark interest in different industries, and build confidence in real-world settings. We've also launched Earl and Birdy's, our very own coffee van located at Nowra Private Hospital. It’s an exciting new space where participants can build hospitality skills, learn customer service, and gain hands-on experience in a supportive, community-focused environment. Skills Boost Shoalhaven also works with local businesses who want to create inclusive opportunities but aren’t sure where to start. We offer support, training, and guidance to make it easy for employers to get involved — whether it’s hosting a visit, providing a “taster” shift, or becoming a mentor. Whether you’re ready to build your skills, or you’re a local business wanting to make a difference — Skills Boost Shoalhaven is here to help.
