Understanding energy doesn't have to be confusing.

Switched On! is a free, hands-on learning experience that helps people make sense of energy, bills and appliances.

This is for anyone who feels like their energy bills are too high, even if you are sharing a home with others, and especially if you are on a tight budget.

Switched On! helps you understand what uses power, why it costs money, and simple ways to save energy at home, and stay comfortable in hot or cold weather.

No jargon. No pressure. Definitely no boring lectures.

  • "Why is my bill so high?"

  • "What's costing me the most?"

  • "Do I really need to switch things off?"

  • "Should I buy a new appliance or keep the old one?"

  • "I'm renting — what can I actually do?"

  • "How do we split bills fairly?"

  • "What help is available?"

  • "Everyone talks about solar … but what does it actually mean?"

We figure it out together – just practical stuff that makes sense.

At Switched On! you can:

  • Try things out

  • Ask questions

  • Compare appliances

  • Explore ways to save money

  • Share ideas with others

  • Take home simple tips and resources

Everyone learns differently, so sessions are designed to be welcoming, practical and easy to follow.

You don't need to pay the bills to make a difference.

Switched On! helps people share what they've learnt with family, housemates, friends and the wider community.

Workshops across the Shoalhaven

Workshops and pop-up events will be held across the Shoalhaven and surrounding region.
